What is the best format for home DVD and video copies of digital photos?
I would like to create DVD copies of Long duration of my digital photos and short video clips. I would like to play on your TV through my DVD player. What DVD format should I use? I also want to copy old VHS and Hi8 video tapes to DVD. What format would be best? DVD + /-R, DVD-RAM, DVD + /-RW? What would you recommend quality brands you long-term? Sony, Memorex?
Select NTSC, 4:3 aspect ratio and 30 frames / sec. I can use 3.2 GHz computer because my 1.5 GHz computer made "uneven" action on the screen. DVD Xpress ADS capture unit ($ 40). It accepts analog video and audio from camcorders FHS or tapes. I use the Staples DVD + (lifetime warranty) that play OK in four different brands of DVD players that my parents use. Software comes with DVD drive X-press. I had to disable the firewall, screen saver and wireless make good films.
