START How to earn a living with art?
I'm not asking for 6 digit income just want to know where to begin! Keep the mind i i community life is not really too involved in the arts! fairs and exhibitions have made some and will host an exhibition too this year! then that other websites and how you can start living? abstract paintings in watercolor and some oil! wow some great answers thanks! that will difficult for the best answer! 1. Get business cards made. You can do this on your own computer or by going vista.com to a place like where they have designs already for you. 2. Keep doing fairs and exhibitions. 3. Visit the Galleries that you both in person and online. Sure that has a portfolio of their work that is clean, neat and presented as a professional. 4. If your local library has a blank wall, ask if you can put an exhibition. 5. Try to expand arts community where you live. You may want to try to put together a collection and use of a room in the library or a local school. 6. Set profiles all sites that the artist can find. Many are free, as myartprofile.com while others charge minimal fees, as ebsqart.com for self-representing artists. 7. Consider buying a domain name and create your own website. It can be as simple as one page directly to you people everywhere are displaying online and out. 8. Try to sell less expensive parts on eBay. Many of us have been lucky. 9. Network with other abstract artists and ask them how they are doing to sales. 10. I am an Abstract Expressionist who works with acrylics and inks, water-based monotypes. While it is difficult to make a living, can be done but only with hard work and discipline. You need to make a program that sets aside about 25% of your working hours a week for marketing and sales until they are good enough to have an agent working / Gallery.
